Honored for his long time commitment to Butler athletics, Charlie's humor and pride made him a well-known and well-loved figure on campus for 33 years. He was hired as an equiptment manager by Tony Hinkle in 1946; he suffered a heart attack and died while performing his duties at the Fieldhouse in 1980. Charlie once was described as a "throwback to earlier times when people took great pride in doing their work with care." He was chosen B-Man of the Year in 1976. |
